Faces

My approach to the human face is an investigation into individual character. The medium varies according to my interpretation and the subconscious mechanisms that drive decisions on execution.

This is not a purely visual process, and I do not reproduce photos that only capture a two-dimensional representation of one moment in time. I have to know more about the sitter in order to do them justice.

Whether abstract or representational, each image is imbued with sustained focus and curiosity. In many cases, I start with nothing more than a feeling, the image evolving over time.
