Drawing from life
The human form has always fascinated artists and, for many, it is the basis for all drawing. It is as challenging as it is rewarding and enlightening. It hones the artist's hand-eye coordination and it is infinitely diverse.
The human body's complex outer structure reveals so much more than shapes and textures. There is much to explore below the surface—bones, muscles, moods, feelings, consciousness and a life lived, all the things make each of us unique. Life drawing can help put us in touch with the magnificence that exists in all human beings.
Life drawing takes the artist through a fascinating process of observation and editing, feeling and application, each in a unique way. It’s a never-ending process—always exciting and a valuable tool in the growth of any artist.

You have an uncommon knowledge of how the creative process is an essential part of human life and are able to help people dig deep into themselves to find their innate creative spirit.
It was your emails encouraging anyone who might feel a little 'shy' about life drawing and not knowing you to give it a try.
In your life drawing course at the McMillan Arts Centre I experienced not only my own growth and transformation as a beginner, aspiring artist, but also each of the other individuals in the class experiencing something that allowed them to move forward in their exploration of an art practice. Some small and some big, but something all the same! I am changed by the experience and look forward to what I will draw next!
I would say if you are leary of taking an art class, especially life drawing, take a course with Lewis and 'get over it'!

Art and creativity
7 - week evening class
Life drawing has always been a central discipline in art, and has gone through many changes over the centuries. This course is designed to show anyone (artists and non-artists alike) that they can get a lot of satisfaction and learning from discovering their own way of doing life drawing. The goal is to discover each student’s unique way of going about it, establish the validity and value of each unique approach, and to inspire breakthroughs and realizations along the way.
At the end of the course, students get a certificate of completion. The final session is designed to help each student decide how they will continue their practice and develop further.

Brand and website development
Building an online presence
3 full days
Larry Page (Google) once said to a friend of mine that 99% of websites don’t do anything. Nowadays, the Internet is often the primary source of customers for many businesses. Whether a business is large or small, the challenges are similar in a world where there is so much Internet ‘noise’.
This course introduces website-building and associated social media and email tools using a WordPress system that's specifically designed to get conversions. This is one of the most cost-effective ways to achieve an online presence and to acquire and manage leads, especially for small businesses.
The course is a primer for using the system and for developing structures that work for each student’s requirements. Those who choose to buy the system will have ongoing support from the supplier and constant updates and new tools as they are developed.

Based on my successful brand development course, BRAND NEW, students will discover what brand really is and how it works. The course is interactive, with various processes that involve group discussion and production of ideas and material between sessions.
Before the course starts, students are sent a needs assessment form, which helps them to start thinking about their brand and gives me an idea of where they are with their business so that I can tailor it to their needs as we go.
At the end of the course, students will have all the tools to put in place a powerful brand for their business.
