Creating circumstances, working the machine

Future Perfect Now #296

It’s hard to remember, but I foresaw all this. The brain has a remarkable capability to block out the struggle, whatever hardships we endure, whatever health challenges; and it can transport us—figuratively and literally—to a better place. If we want it to. If we focus with all our heart and mind (using our brain) on the outcome we seek. Those who doubt that need only to look at their own lives. What do they focus on and what do they get? What intentions are behind their actions? What is their big picture vision for their life? I know, all too well, that circumstances can block a vision and confuse the mind as to what is possible. Most of my life, I focused on circumstances. This is happening; therefore that. Reactive and victim mentality. The world was happening to me. How incredible it was, then, to discover that I am actually an active part of that world, fully integrated into the system that was creating all those circumstances that I saw as things being dumped on me. How incredible it was, then, to discover that I had the key to the machine, that I could go and tinker with it, rearrange the workings and decide how it would best work for me and others. That I could decide on up and down, forward and back, round or straight, little or much, was all an incredible revelation that created a cosmic defrag and a whole new operating system.

Wheels turning: Ink on paper 18 x 24"

We are generally unaware of the influence we have on the world around us, or our capacity to change our circumstances for ourselves. Every small action we take affects the whole, simply because we know that everything is connected. The 'butterfly effect' therefore affects us just as much as it does the rest of the whole, so our actions, thoughts, intentions and vision are to be considered with care.
